The city of Tampa is the county seat of Hillsborough County and the largest city in West Central Florida.Tampa is divided into five main districts fanning out from Downtown in the south-center between the Hillsborough River and Ybor Channel.

Tampa has grown into the center of a large metropolitan area; it now has acquired numerous professional sports teams, and has even bid for the summer Olympics. Tampa is now home to many native Floridians, including Seminoles, Cubans, Spaniards and Italians. Tampa has a growing economy and serves as a major port. 

Tampa was ranked as the 5th best outdoor city by Forbes. Tampa also ranks as the fifth most popular American city, based on where people want to live. In recent years Tampa has seen a notable upsurge in high-market demand from consumers, signaling more wealth concentrated in the area.

Tampa has a humid subtropical climate. However, cold snaps do occur in winter in Tampa occasionally, bringing temperatures at night around freezing. From spring through fall, weather is very warm and humid.

Rain is less frequent in the fall and winter. Temperatures are warm to hot from around mid-May through mid-October, which roughly coincides with the rainy season. Summertime weather is very consistent from June through September. Average highs range from 21 to 32 °C year round, and lows 11 to 24 °C.

By bus: Bus transportation in the Tampa area is not popular and one can expect plenty of room in busses.

HART,  provides extensive bus service throughout Hillsborough County. There are three types of routes offered: "local", "Commuter Express", and Trollies. Local routes are ones which have many stops in a small region. Commuter Express lines are long-distance lines namely providing service from suburbs into Tampa.  

By Streetcar: Tampa also has the TECO Line Streetcar that runs from Whiting and Franklin Streets downtown to Centennial Park, with 9 stops along the way (11 total stops). The line is useful for tourists and convention goers. The line runs by many local shops, restaurants, and attractions. 

The one-way fare is $2.50. A 1-day, unlimited rides pass for streetcars and trollies are available for $5. Service is available: 12AM-10PM Monday-Thursday, 11AM-2AM Friday and Saturday, and Noon-8PM on Sunday. Streetcars arrive every 20 minutes.

Busch Gardens Tampa: Visit one of the most famous theme parks in Florida to experience the fun and excitement of thousands that have gone before you. The large park is structured to replicate parts of Africa such as Egypt, Morocco, and Congo. The Busch Gardens theme parks are known for their multi-cultural influence.

Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo: Tasmanian Family Coaster, Gator Falls Flume Ride, and the Camel Ride are just a few of the famous attractions awaiting visitors to this interesting zoo. Each attraction houses animals in various themes that match the environment surrounding them. See exotic birds, large land mammals, and colorful marine life.

The Florida Aquarium: There are literally millions of gallons of water that fill the many tanks throughout the tanks, and each one houses different animals, including river otters, Florida alligators, and sea dragons, among others.

Museum of Science and Industry: Is one of the top Tampa attractions because of its ability to both educate and entertain. At the museum, you’ll se the largest articulated dinosaur ever discovered, pedal 30 feet above the ground on a suspended bicycle, and experience space travel in the flight simulator.

Adventure Island Waterpark: With a full 30 acres of splashes, water slides, and sporting activities. Some of the water rides inside the park include the 9,000 square foot Paradise Lagoon, the rafting wonder Wahoo Run and the surprising Splash Attack.
