Lyon has a marine climate that has warm summers and a mild climate but experiences rainfall all year round. Lyon experiences four distinct seasons of spring, summer, autumn and winter. Winter starts in December and ends in February and sees an average high of 7C and an average low of -1C. The winter experiences the lowest rainfall of any season in Lyon.

Summer comes to Lyon in June and ends in August. July and August see the highest temperatures of the year with an average high of 27C. July is one of the driest months of the year. Autumn starts in September and ends in November with average daily high of around 23C down to 10C.

The city of Lyon has a well integrated public transportation system known as the "TCL". The public transit system in Lyon France consists of a network of buses, trams, a metro and funiculars linking Vieux Lyon. The urban network in Lyon includes over 120 bus lines, four metro lines, four tramway lines and two funiculars. Single and multi-day transit passes can be purchased.

Bicycle: Pick up a set of red-and-silver wheels at one of 200-odd bike stations dotted around the city and drop them off at another with the city’s hugely successful vélo’v bike-rental scheme. The first 30 minutes are free and the first/subsequent hours cost €1/2 with a carte courte durée.

Lyon Zoo: The Lyon Zoo features an assortment of birds and animals.  It is a popular tourist attraction for the young and the young-at-heart.  The zoo is located in Parc de la Tete d'Or which is also home to Lyon's botanical gardens.

Flower Tree in Lyon: The magnificent Flower Tree is one of Lyon France's truly unique tourist attractions.  This colorful work of art can be found on the north bank of the Rhone River in Lyon's second arrondissement.

La Place du Change: is the picturesque city square in Vieux Lyon (Old Lyon).  Situated directly below the Notre Dame Basilica, the historic square features an attractive sculpture in its centre.  Saint Jean Cathedral (Cathédrale St-Jean) is located on the south side of the square.

Bartholdi Fountain: The magnificent fountain located in Lyon France's central square. The fountain is a popular spot for friends to meet and for tourist to gather.  There are a number of good outdoor restaurants nearby. Bartholdi's best known sculpture was called "Liberty Enlightening the World".
