Torbay is a traditional English seaside resort, but their excellent climate, sub-tropical gardens, harbours full of luxury yachts and elegant houses overlooking the sea have given the area the nickname of ‘the English Riviera’. The three Riviera towns of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham surround a sun-trap bay lined with sandy beaches.

Population: 70.214

Each town has its own character, and together they welcome 1.5 million visitors from all over the world every year. The Bay is surrounded by stunning countryside and is within easy reach of world-famous sights, such as Stonehenge and the Cornish coasts.

Torbay has a very mild year round climate with the short winters quickly giving way to the flower-filled warmth of an early spring. Torbay reliably experiences some of the longest days and highest sunlight hours per day than anywhere else in England and the United Kingdom.

The winter climate may be mild, but prone to periods of wet weather, while the summers are usually hot, with temperatures in July and August regularly topping 25°C and on occasion, reaching more than 30°C. Summer really last longer, with October and November very often mild enough to enjoy outdoor activities!
