Despite its relatively high altitude and mountain surroundings, it has an oceanic climate. Summer days in Queenstown are long and leisurely, so you'll have plenty of daylight hours to explore. Daytime temperatures range between 20 °C and 30 °C.

Queenstown in spring is a time for fun and rejuvenation, with daytime temperatures ranging between 8°C and 22°C. Autumn begin to get shorter, with around 10 hours of daylight.

Temperatures between 12oC and 25oC winters are cold with temperatures often in single digits with frequent snowfall, although there is no permanent snow cover during the year. Daily temperatures range between -2°C. and 8°C.

Queenstown bus and coach services let you travel to, from or around Queenstown in comfort and with great views.

The local bus service, Connectabus, is an easy and affordable way to explore the wider Queenstown area and operates from early morning to late at night. Connectabus services all major hotels and motels every 20 minutes.

There are a number of national coach companies offering coach trips to and from Queenstown, with itineraries of varying lengths available.

Partake in one adrenaline activity: There are quite a few to choose from in the adventure capital of the world, with 3 different bungees, 3 sky swings, 4 jet boat rides, sky diving, paragliding, parasailing, white water rafting, lugeing, off-roading, zip lining, canyoning, river surfing, and wake boarding.

Enjoy the night life: Queenstown is a small, yet busy town. It consists of only a handful of main roads. However, you will find over 30 bars, each with its own personality and draw to any crowd.

Experience Milford Sound: You can take a cruise, helicopter or plane ride through some of the most magnificent areas you will ever see. You will stare in awe at the beautiful waterfalls, lush greenery and stunning nature.

If it’s winter go snowboarding or skiing: Queenstown is a ski resort. It’s what drives the town. People come from near and far to chase the powder June through September. Even if you don’t do either buy a sightseeing pass and get to experience stunning views at the top of the mountains.

Take in the views: Ride the Skyline Gondola up Bob's Peak to photograph the iconic view of Queenstown found on every Queenstown postcard. You won't be disappointed. While up at the Skyline Ridge ride the chairlift to the top and luge down the racing tracks with spectacular views every where you look.
