Right next to the Empire State Building, our partner school welcomes you on the 7th floor of a modern and attractive art-deco building on 5th Avenue. There, in the heart of bustling Manhattan, you will study English together with students coming from the four corners of the world. Easily reachable by public transport, the school offers excellent facilities: 17 modern classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards, a library, a digital language laboratory, free Wi-Fi connection, a student bookshop, a self-access centre, computers and a canteen.
To relax after class and have lunch, you will also take advantage of the Student Café and Lounge, designed exclusively for the students of the school. In this stimulating atmosphere, you will make rapid progress under the guidance of experienced and motivated teachers. You will be placed in a small group (max. 12 students) according to your level, which will allow you to receive the necessary support and attention for quick and effective learning.
And after class, you will dive into the fascinating world of the Big Apple with your new friends, either on your own or during the activities organised by the school. Greenwich Village, Times Square, Central Park, 5th Avenue and its countless boutiques: all these mythical places will be close at hand! Can you think of anything better for your language course in New York?
At St Giles we offer a complete package ensuring you have everything you need for a successful and enjoyable period of study. We offer you a wide choice of accommodation options for all needs and budgets, transfers to and from our centres, social activities and comprehensive insurance.
Support and Welfare: Our staff are here to help and support you from the moment you arrive in our schools, to the day you return home. We have welfare officers in every centre to ensure your safety and well-being, while our Academic Counsellors will help you with your studies and can advise you on your future career or educational life.
We also have dedicated Child Protection Officers who are responsible for students under the age of 18. You will also receive a 24-hour telephone number for use outside school hours.
Social Programme: Our social and excursion programmes are designed to help you have fun, make friends, practise your English, and explore the city and country you are living in. At each year-round school there is an Activity Organiser who will arrange afternoon, evening and weekend activities.
You can choose from local weekday activities and sports, a range of full-day weekend excursions, as well as mini-breaks over the weekend. There will be at least five events each week.
Discover the most offbeat concerts, the trendiest lounges, the private viewings of fashionable painters and let yourself be carried away by the intoxicating atmosphere of this city of endless possibilities. The city that never sleeps is full of entertainment opportunities, each more varied and original than the last, that will complete the activities programme offered by our partner school perfectly.
Here is what awaits you: New York tours, New York Yankee games, shows in Greenwich Village, theatre evenings on Broadway, live concerts in Central Park? You will also visit the two most prestigious art galleries in New York, the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) and the Guggenheim, and also the Natural History Museum.
And that is not all! The school also organises excursions to the biggest cities and sites on the East Coast: a weekend in Boston, Washington or Philadelphia, a 3-day trip to Niagara Falls, at the border between the United States and Canada? Embark on an amazing language course in one of the most fascinating cities in the world!
