LSI Cambridge

The picturesque city of Cambridge is of course best known for its university, but it is also a lively and bustling town with plenty to offer even the most discerning international student.

The picturesque city of Cambridge is of course best known for its university, but it is also a lively and bustling town with plenty to offer even the most discerning international student. Filled with beautiful architecture, museums and art galleries, Cambridge is heaven for anyone wishing to absorb some British culture. The large student population also means that Cambridge is rich with independent shops and restaurants and is brimming with vibrant nightlife including live music, theatre and comedy - an ideal destination for anyone who wants to learn English in England.

Our language school offers a perfect venue for studying English in Cambridge. Located in a peaceful residential area close to the train station and the busy city centre, LSI Cambridge offers a great environment in which to learn English. In the summer months, we also use a nearby private sixth form college.

Whether you choose a programme that prepares you for the TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS exams, the Cambridge Examination Course or one of our Standard ESL/EFL courses, you will benefit from LSI Cambridge's fantastic location and facilities that include 10 fully equipped classrooms, a student lounge and a computer room with free internet access.

LSI Cambridge runs a dynamic and ever-changing Social programme including parties, barbecues, nightclubs and sports such as football and golf. Weekend excursions outside of Cambridge to destinations as diverse as London, Stonehenge, Shakespeare's birthplace, Scotland and Paris are also regularly organised.

  • Punting on the River Cam: Punting on the river Cam is an absolute must for anyone visiting or staying in Cambridge. A relaxing trip down the river on a traditional flat bottomed boat (or punt) gives you the best view of the beautiful and historic college buildings.
  • Cambridge Shakespeare Festival: Every year, students from the University of Cambridge stage a selection of Shakespeare's most famous plays against a backdrop of stunning gardens. Running throughout July and August the productions themselves are vivid and spectacular, and are performed in full period costume with live Elizabethan music.
  • Pub Tour: Cambridge has more pubs per mile than any other city in the UK and these form an important part of the city's history and culture.

We're passionate about language learning. That's why we're constantly reviewing the latest trends and methodology in the field. Academic staff from every LSI school participate in the research and development of our programmes. We ensure that the latest theories of language learning are considered and evaluated throughout our centres.

Language Immersion: At LSI we believe that the best way to learn a language is to study in the country where the language is spoken. We want you to immerse yourself in the culture and truly 'live the language'. This is the most efficient and satisfying way to learn the language, and remains at the core of LSI's language learning system.

Latest Materials: We're constantly reviewing the latest materials available for language learning. We provide you with what our academic team have identified as being the very best course books currently available for your level. We are also committed to providing the latest technology inside the classroom. We utilise the most cutting edge audio, video and web based resources.

Quality Teachers: We understand that our students' single most identifiable measure of programme quality is the teacher. That's why at LSI we only work with the very best teachers; experienced, highly motivated and qualified with country specific teaching credentials.

E-LSI (E-Learning from LSI): Our custom built on line learning system works alongside our classes to help you maximise your time with us. Through your unique log in, you can access your test scores, prepare for and record your 1-2-1 tutorials with your teacher and access a wealth of further learning resources to supplement and extend your in class learning.

Your test results can also be analyzed to provide unique learning objectives for you, giving you the chance to study exactly what you need in order to progress. E-LSI also provides a forum for discussion with classmates and teachers, where you can post your work, collaborate and enhance your learning experience.
