With such a wide choice, there's sure to be something to suit you. Boost your confidence in English and make new friends, as you speak with BLC students of many other nationalities. The following activities are typical examples of what you might expect to enjoy at BLC:

  • City tours of Bristol, taking in Banksy's famous murals and Brunel?s engineering masterpieces.
  • Day trips to other cities, such as London, Oxford and Cardiff.
  • A film at the cinema, or a performance at one of Bristol's famous theatres.
  • A sizzling summer barbecue or beach trip, or a winter fireworks display or Christmas market.
  • Trips to the historic sights of Stonehenge, Salisbury or Wells.
  • Fun activities from Laser Quest and mini-golf to boat trips or bowling.
  • Bristol's museums or zoo, or a famous Bristol event like the Harbour Festival or Balloon Fiesta.
  • Traditional English pubs, a delicious meal at a local restaurant, or meeting up for a chat over coffee.
  • And after all that, maybe a quiet night in with your fellow students, watching a film on DVD!

Costs of social events are not included in course fees, except for Junior Summer Programme. Many adult social activities are free, and the total cost of weekly activities does not usually exceed £20.

The Happiness and Safety of BLC Students are our Priorities: At BLC, we ensure you are safe and happy while you study. We are here to answer all your queries about life in the UK. We'll help you steer clear of problems, but if you need a friendly face or helping hand, we're here to help.

Student Support: BLC has a named welfare officer, who is there to support you. BLC's Student Support Services will help you with any non-academic issues, ranging from registering with the police and medical services through to setting up a bank account.

24-hour Emergency Helpline: All our students are issued with a 24-hour emergency telephone number.
