One of the best ways to both speed the progress of learning English and gain a first-hand understanding of the people of Canada is to live with a Canadian host family while studying at ELS Language Centers. The Homestay Program is an inexpensive accommodation choice designed to give students an opportunity to learn about life in Canada by living with a Canadian family.

Canadian hosts are sensitive to the cultural differences facing students upon arrival. It is their job to help the students adjust to the lifestyle, become familiar with the city and provide support to the students. All homestay families speak only English in the home, and high-speed Internet access is guaranteed.

Each student will have a private room in a home located within a reasonable distance from the Center (an average of 45-65 minutes by public transportation). There is a Full Board meal plan (3 meals per day) in addition to our Half Board meal plan (2 per day) at all ELS/Toronto homestays. Host family students are responsible for their personal transportation.

Most students use public transportation to come to school. For more information regarding Toronto's Public Transportation, visit www.ttc.ca Students may request their own private bathroom an additional charge of $125 per 4-week session. Students may request a homestay that is located closer to the school for an additional charge of $50 per 4-week session.
