Health and Welfare
We provide a range of services to support students, including first aid, advice on health insurance and general well being as well as a 24hour emergency telephone number. Regular workshops and guest speakers are also arranged regularly to address some of the common concerns facing international students.
Further Studies Advice
The Further Studies Advisor is available to meet with students who intend to study at university, high school or college in Australia following the English studies at Hawthorn-Melbourne.
In addition to the one-on-one advice, the Further Studies Advisor also organises the annual Information Day, where all the universities and TAFEs in Victoria come to Hawthorn to meet with students.
There is also a Further Studies resource area within the library which contains information for student use. There are brochures and handbooks from a range of institutions and a series of handouts on topics relevant to students.
Your Teachers
All of our teachers are experienced and qualified English language teachers. They have a minimum of two years? teaching experience, and are degree and TESOL qualified. They are focused on helping you reach your goals. And we ensure they stay up to date with the latest teaching techniques, through an ongoing professional development program.
The social activity program at Hawthorn-Melbourne is known as SCOPE, or Sport, Culture, Outdoor Programs andExcursions. Through the SCOPE program, students can take part in a range of social activities, which enables them to make new friends and gain the confidence needed to succeed in their English lauguage learning.
