Cape town is the second-most populous city in South Africa, afterJohannesburg. it is also the legislative capital of the country. Cape Town has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate with mild, moderately wet winters and dry, warm summers. Winter, which lasts from the beginning of June to the end of August. Winter months in the city average a maximum of 18.0 °C and minimum of 8.5 °C. Summer, which lasts from early December to March, is warm and dry with an average maximum of 26.0 °C and minimum of 16.0 °C.
Public transportation in Cape Town seems to be a bit better than in neighboring cities. For bus transport, Cape Town has just introduced its first Integrated Rapid transit bus system (known as IRT). There is an extensive network of routes from the main terminal on Grand Parade. Buses here are subsidized, so they are by far the most affordable mode of transportation.
The inner city is also covered by this service and is known as the MyCiti Bus Service, which travels two separate loops within the city, speedy, safe, and inexpensive. There’s also have the standard bus options, with stops all over the city, services the greater area, although it doesn’t move within the city. For within the city the hop-on hop-off City Sightseeing Bus operates a city tour every day, and moves all around Cape Town’s main sights.
If you are in a rush, opt for a minibus taxi instead. Still affordable, you can be picked up and dropped off at more locations. The main stop is above the train station on Adderley, but you can hail the vans from almost anywhere.
The main Metrorail station is at Adderley Street in the CBD, and moves through almost all the suburbs in Cape Town and surrounds. Popular amongst commuters, who will often take a bus to the closest station, then the train into the city.

The Castle of Good Hope: at the bottom of Buitenkant Street, is the oldest surviving colonial building in South Africa and is home to the Military Museum, which captures the social history of Dutch colonial settlement and British occupation and the Castle Forge.
