Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina and the second largest Banking Center in the country. The Charlotte area has a real mix of old and new home communities in a variety of styles, price ranges and living environments that range from the bustle of urban living to the slow peaceful setting of the suburbs.

Charlotte is also home of the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL), the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA), the Charlotte Hounds of Major League Lacrosse, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Carowinds amusement park, and the U.S. National Whitewater Center.

Charlotte, has a humid subtropical climate, with four distinct seasons; Winters are short and generally cool, with a January daily average of 4.5 °C. On average, there are 59 nights per year that drop to or below freezing.

April is the driest month. Summers are hot and humid, with a daily average in July of 25.8 °C. There is an average 44 days per year with highs at or above 32 °C.

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS), based in Charlotte and managed by the Public Transit Departmen. CATS’ services reach nearly 800,000 people by operating over 140 bus, rail and vanpool routes as well as services for the disabled. 

Bus: The bus system is as reliable as it is robust. Uptown Charlotte is connected to the surrounding area by 74 routes, which include eight regional express routes and 10 neighborhood circulators. The Charlotte Transportation Center, serves as the main hub for the LYNX Blue Line and all radial bus routes.

Light Rail: The 15 stations vary from walk-up stations to park-and-ride stations with space for as many as 1,100 vehicles. Running every 10 minutes in peak periods, LYNX offers a consistent trip time of 23 minutes from the farthest station to the Charlotte Transportation Center.

Carolina Raptor Center: Located just north of Charlotte, has been home to 11,000 rescued hawks, eagles, vultures, and owls. One of the largest raptor treatment facilities in the country.

Mint Museum Uptown: This striking facility features expansive galleries and a range of visitor amenities, including public spaces for learning, shopping, and dining. 

McDowell Nature Center and Preserve: The park offers a variety of beautiful landscapes and habitats, are popular stomping grounds for hikers, bird-watchers and nature-lovers of all types. Is worth stopping by for its butterfly gardens, bird-feeding stations, animal exhibits and a gift shop.

Nascar Hall of Fame: Offers 150,000 square feet of interactive entertainment that everyone is sure to love. The museum features room after room of interesting hands-on exhibits, including tire-changing stations, race simulators and broadcast booths. The Hall of Honor highlights the careers of famous inductees.

Carowinds: The 100-acre park offers all the usual amusement park adventures, including Ferris wheels, roller coasters, special effects shows, and a water park.
